Record harvesting of soy beans

The national average yield of soybeans has surpassed 2.000 kilos per hectare this year. It is estimated that 2.200 kilos of soybeans have been harvested per hectare with highs reaching 4.000 kilos per hectare. Soy bean cultivation has been booming in Uruguay since 2004 and yields have never been this good. The accumulated harvest this year reaches 2.2 million tons. Considering that prices are approximately $ 480 USD per ton, this leads to a record income for Uruguayan agriculture of 1.000 M USD
